Dear Friends,
This issue of Thinking Ahead focuses on a "win-win": the charitable gift annuity. It is a gift-planning option that more than 200 Colgate donors have already embraced by making gifts that Colgate will realize in the future; in return, Colgate pays them income for life - part of it tax-advantaged. It's that easy.
To make the point, we highlight the story of Ray '69 and Leslie (Heaslip) '74 Wengenroth, whose Colgate roots run deep and who are among our many savvy annuitants supporting Colgate's historic Campaign for the Third Century. It is worth noting that the Great Class of '74, Colgate's first fully coeducational class, marks 50 years in 2024. We look forward to celebrating this special class at their 50th Reunion in June.
Paul '77 and Susan '78 Friedman will be celebrating their 50th Reunion a few years from now. And to demonstrate their love for Colgate, they have chosen to establish a bequest - another simple, meaningful way to create a Colgate legacy, which will count in their 50th Reunion gift.
Times are ever changing, but Colgate remains a constant and important part of our life stories. If you are already a member of the Willow Society, thank you! If not, and particularly if Colgate is already in your plan but you haven't shared that with us, I encourage you to read these stories and consider joining us. Thank you for all you do for Colgate.
Sincerely,
Pam Odeen-LoDato '81 Chair, Planned Giving Committee |
